North Kansas City High School
North Kansas City High School has been at the heart of education in the Northland since 1925. For more than 100 years, the school and the city of North Kansas City have grown together, sharing traditions, facilities, programs, and generations of talent. Known affectionately as “Northtown,” NKCHS has long been a place where community pride runs deep.
As a “big city” school in a small-town setting, Northtown offers students a unique high school experience shaped by strong academics, diverse perspectives, local partnerships, and a deep spirit of service. From early agricultural classes in the 1920s to today’s International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, career-focused programs, and innovative course offerings, North Kansas City High School continues to provide meaningful opportunities for students to learn, lead, and grow.
